IRTIQĀ’ (Ikhtibār Rāyah li-Taqyīm Qudrāt al-Arabiyyah) is an institutional Arabic language proficiency assessment developed by Markaz Bahasa Ar-Raayah to measure learners’ linguistic competence in a structured and progressive manner. The test is designed to evaluate language mastery across three levels of proficiency: Mubtadi’ (Beginner), Mutawassiṭ (Intermediate), and Mutaqaddim (Advanced). Each level reflects a gradual development of vocabulary range, structural accuracy, and depth of comprehension.

The assessment focuses on three fundamental components of Arabic language competence: Listening, Reading, and Qawā‘id. The Listening component measures the ability to understand spoken Arabic in structured contexts, ranging from simple daily expressions to more complex academic discourse at higher levels. The Reading component evaluates comprehension of written texts appropriate to each level, including the ability to identify main ideas, interpret meanings, and analyze linguistic structures. The Qawā‘id component assesses grammatical mastery, including sentence construction, morphological accuracy, and the correct application of Arabic syntactic principles.

IRTIQĀ’ serves as an institutional standard for placement, academic evaluation, and certification of Arabic language proficiency, reflecting Ar-Raayah’s commitment to systematic language development and measurable academic standards.
